Match-winner Chris O'Grady says Sunday's derby win over rivals Sheffield United can catapult the Owls towards their promotion target.

O'Grady headed home Lewis Buxton's 73rd-minute cross to clinch Wednesday a 1-0 win at Hillsborough and lift them up to third in the table, two points behind the second-placed Blades who have two games in hand.

"We will set targets of what we should do between now and the end of the season," O'Grady told the club's official website. "It's about us and, if we perform as we can, then I'm sure we will be successful."

O'Grady, a summer signing from Rochdale, added: "It doesn't get much bigger and better than playing in a derby game like that.

"I've played in derby games for Rochdale against Oldham in front of about 4,000 fans so it's not quite the same, but it was definitely special on Sunday and it's what every footballer aspires to get to."

O'Grady added: "That goal is definitely up there out of all the goals I've scored in my career, but I'm first of all just happy to get the win because that's what we set out to do."
