Robbo dismissal harsh - Gorman

MK Dons assistant manager John Gorman says boss Karl Robinson's sending-off on Tuesday was "a big fuss about nothing".

Robinson was sent to the stands by referee James Linnington seven minutes from the end of the Dons' 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at stadium:mk in League One following an altercation with Reda Johnson on the touchline that left the Owls full-back floored. "I wasn't involved (in Robinson's sending off) so that makes a change!" said Gorman. "It was a big fuss about nothing - the guy fell over and Karl was trying to help him up. "I don't know where it all came from to be honest. The referee can't even see it - I'm sure the film will show what happened." Both teams profited from first-half own goals, with Wednesday goalkeeper Stephen Bywater's misfortune matched by Dons defender Gary MacKenzie. Gorman added: "I thought we were the better team by far, without a question, and you've got to give a lot of credit to us because we were down to the bare bones. It was wonderful to see Alan Smith coming on and contributing - he's an experienced player and he'll get better and better with the more games he plays."
