Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson has praised striker Ryan Lowe for scoring the winner in the Owls' 2-1 success at Wycombe.

With top scorer Gary Madine suspended for Saturday's League One clash at Adams Park, Lowe marked his first Owls start by heading home the decider, adding to Jose Semedo's opener to cancel out Jordan Ibe's first senior goal for Wycombe.

With further striking reinforcements to call upon, Megson admits he faces tough decisions further down the line.

"We're fortunate we've got four strikers of the quality they are," he said.

"I don't know if you view it as a problem or a luxury. That's what we bought them in for. When they get the opportunity they've got to take it - and Ryan did that.

"We can get better but to come away from home and win 2-1, to hit the crossbar, to hit the post, to have chance after chance is good. We started great, I was delighted with that. We had chances to score before we did but we've got to score more and that's something we need to improve on.

"The only disappointments was their goal and me getting sent off. I asked the referee why that was and I was told a few times I was going over the lines in the technical area. I think somebody complained about my language which I apologise for because it's not acceptable."
