Defeat harsh for boss Sheridan

John Sheridan says 3-1 is not a fair reflection on how Chesterfield performed after they were defeated by rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Goals from Lewis Buxton, Gary Madine and Ben Marshall gave Wednesday victory, with Leon Clarke, playing against his old club, scoring for the Spireites. Sheridan said: "I thought we played really, really well. How we've conceded three goals I don't really know? I thought we were the better team and we totally outplayed them. "They were very soft goals from our point of view. The second and third goals in particular were a joke on our part because we were in possession of the ball. "I think our keeper made one save and that was at the end with his legs. We were the team trying to play and create openings and I was very pleased with the way we played. "We've got to try and not concede soft goals when we've got the play because that's let us down this season."
