Terriers loanee keen to help side win promotion

Huddersfield's loan starlet Benik Afobe has set his sights on helping his adopted club play Championship football next season. The Terriers are just 90 minutes away from returning to the second tier, with free-scoring Peterborough standing in their way in Sunday's League One play-off final at Old Trafford. However, the 18-year-old, on-loan from Arsenal, told skysports.com that playing at the Theatre of Dreams should not faze their experienced group of players, especially having faced the Gunners at Emirates Stadium already this year. Huddersfield booked their place in the final following a thrilling penalty shoot-out success over Bournemouth and Afobe believes his team-mates will be fired up to take down Posh in Manchester.

Experience

"Winning the semi-final the way that we did was probably the best experience of my young career so far," said Afobe. "When it went to penalties you are never sure which way it will go, but thankfully we won the lottery and booked our place in the final. "It was difficult for myself and the other lads on the bench because we couldn't take one of the penalties, but the boys who stood up and took one did really well. "The lads have played in front of 60,000 at the Emirates this season as an away side, so playing in front of a neutral crowd at Old Trafford shouldn't faze them too much. "We've got some experienced players here, such as Kevin Kilbane and Gary Naysmith, who have played at the highest level, so the final shouldn't be a problem for the squad to cope with as an event. "We will just focus on what we are doing and prepare for the match in the same way that we have done all season. "We are 27 games unbeaten now, but that run will be for nothing if we don't make it 28 at Old Trafford, so we need to make one final push to take us into the Championship."
