Defender to look at what his future will hold in the summer

Anthony Gardner will wait until the end of the season before making a decision on his long-term future. The one-cap England international is currently on loan at Crystal Palace from Championship rivals Hull City. He has spent the majority of the season with the Eagles, forming a formidable partnership with Paddy McCarthy at the heart of the back four. Garnder will, however, be expected to return to the KC Stadium once the 2010/11 campaign comes to a close. He has no qualms about that, as he is prepared to fight for a place with the Tigers, but admits he is also open to the prospect of securing a permanent switch elsewhere.

Focus

"My focus has been staying in the team, staying fit and getting results but I'm happy here and we'll see in the summer," Gardner told the Croydon Advertiser on his future. "At the minute I'm just totally focused on playing and getting us up the league. But if the offer is there to stay I will definitely look at it. "The club's great and it's been great to me so I would definitely consider it, but now is not the time to make that decision. I'll wait until the summer and decide which is the best way for my career to go forward and go from there. "I'm very happy here. In January I extended my loan because the club wanted me to stay and part of that decision was the fact that I wanted to stay here as well. "I could easily have gone back to Hull, but for me I wanted to stay here because I'm really enjoying it day in and day out with the boys."
