Stephen McPhail will not play again until the New Year after undergoing surgery earlier this week. The Republic of Ireland international sustained a thigh injury earlier this month. He was excepted to be out for six weeks initially, but now he has had surgery and will not play again until January at the earliest. "The specialist decided on an operation to re-attach the thigh muscle to the bone," said Cardiff boss Dave Jones. "It's bad news about Stevie and he's a big loss because he's won the fans over again. We'll miss his creativity."
