Paul Duffen has confirmed Hull City's desire to turn Kamil Zayatte's loan into a permanent transfer in January.
The Guinea international is currently on loan to the KC Stadium outfit, but has impressed so far after joining from Young Boys.
Duffen has confirmed the club have a deal with the Swiss outfit and due to his impressive performances to date the East Yorkshire side are keen to exercise that option.
"He's on loan for the season. We have an exclusive option to buy him in the January window at a price that I've already agreed with Young Boys," he told
Sky Sports News.
"The price is between £2million and £3million. I don't see any doubt right now that we'll want to convert Kamil's Zarate into a permanent signing. He's been a revelation. Everyone's a fan of Kamil."
King to stay?
Hull also have Marlon King on loan from Wigan and Duffen believes the club will also look to retain the experienced striker beyond the end of the season.
"Marlon again is on a season-long loan," he continued. "We're loving him and he's loving us. I see no reason why we wouldn't want to continue with Marlon."
It has been suggested Hull City might be tempted to sell come the New Year, but Duffen believes it is doubtful anyone could be leaving for pastures new as Phil Brown is already working with a small squad.
"Our squad is quite small. Every player is a valuable asset.
"If there's an opportunity where one of our players attracted so much financial interest that Phil thought we could do better with the money by reinvesting it then that might happen, but there's no agenda to see any Hull City player.
Money to spend
"There's money to spend in January. If we need to do things, if we have injuries or the right opportunity comes up, yes of course we'll do what we have to do."
Following The Tigers blistering start to life in the Premier League it has been claimed Brown could leave for a bigger club next summer, but Duffen thinks the ex-Derby boss will remain as manager at The KC for some time to come.
When asked if Brown will be staying on Duffen replied: "I think so yeah. Phil I believe is a tremendous manager. He's a tremendous coach. He wants to be and will be the manager of a big football club, I have no doubts about that.
"More than actually going and running a big football club, he's got an opportunity that not managers do have of creating a big football club.
"He understands that opportunity as well and I think Phil and I will be together for quite a while at this Hull City ride and I we both share that focus."
