Burnley have brought in Sheffield Wednesday defender Graham Coughlan on loan for the rest of the season.
The Clarets are currently struggling for numbers at the back with only one fit stopper at Turf Moor.
Stephan Foster, John McGreal, Wayne Thomas and Steven Caldwell are all struggling with injury at the moment.
Coughlan's arrival will help ease Steve Cotterill's injury woes, while also giving the 32-year-old the opportunity of regular first-team football.
The Irish defender has only appeared four times for The Owls since the turn of the year and asked to go out on loan.
"Graham Coughlan requested to go on loan because he wants to get his head down and play regular first team football," Owls boss Brian Laws told the club's official website.
"Due to the recent performances of Lee Bullen and Richard Wood plus the fact we have Steve Watson and Tommy Spurr as cover we felt it appropriate for Graham to go out on loan until the end of the season.
"Under the circumstances of his recent family bereavement I can fully understand Graham's desire to play first-team football and wish him all the best for his spell with Burnley."
