Oldham boss John Sheridan has moved to add some pep to his side's faltering promotion quest by bringing in Sheffield Wednesday striker Leon Clarke on loan.
Four defeats on the spin have seen Oldham slip out of the automatic promotion places and Sheridan has moved to address the slide by bringing in fresh blood.
Clarke, 22, has arrived on a month-long loan and improves Oldham's options following the injury which ended Chris Hall's season last week.
The forward only joined The Owls from Wolves in January, but manager Brian Laws has given the green light for him to head to Boundary Park.
"Leon Clarke has asked to go out on loan because he wants to get four or five games under his belt," said Laws.
"Hopefully the loan spell should benefit both Sheffield Wednesday and the player."
