Sheffield Wednesday captain Lee Bullen believes Mark Beevers has a great future ahead of him in the game.
Beevers recently broke into The Owls' line-up in their games against high-flying Southampton and Preston.
Bullen believes the youngster gave a good account of himself, he said: "He's a fantastic prospect.
"I've played with him a few times in the reserves and now in the first team and he could not have had two more difficult games to start with."
Bullen also believes Southampton have been the best side the club have played in this year's Championship.
"Southampton are the best side we've played this season and Kenwyne Jones and Gregorz Rasiak are the best forward pairing, but Mark acquitted himself very well," he added.
"Then he was up against a contrasting pair in David Nugent and Brett Ormerod for Preston and again he did tremendously well. He wasn't fazed and he's learning very quickly."
