Luton Town have finalised the £250,000 signing of Drew Talbot from Sheffield Wednesday.
Hatters boss Mike Newell had been keen to bring in a new striker after the recent sale of Rowan Vine to Birmingham City.
Newell has plumped for the 20-year-old Talbot, who has cut short a loan stay at Scunthorpe United to agree a three-year contract at Kenilworth Road.
Talbot could be given an immediate chance to make an impression with his new club in Luton's FA Cup fourth round tie with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
Meanwhile, The Hatters have also secured the long-term future of midfielder David Bell on a new contract.
Bell has signed an extension to his contract to keep him at the club until 2010, topping up his previous deal by 12 months.
Since joining Luton from Rushden & Diamonds in January last year, Bell has made 31 appearances, scoring two goals.
