Sheffield Wednesday's Richard Wood has signed a new two-year deal at Hillsborough.
The new deal will keep Wood at the Championship outfit until 2009.
Wood, who is currently recovering from a groin injury, has come through the ranks at Wednesday.
The 21-year-old was delighted to pledge his long-term future to the Yorkshire club.
"I'm very pleased, it shows the club was happy with my performances last season," Wood told the club's official website.
"I'm glad to be signing for another two years and to be offered a new contract while I'm injured shows the club want to look after me."
