Rotherham boss Alan Knill believes regular football at Millmoor will allow Ritchie Partridge to display his best football consistently.

Partridge, who spent last season with Sheffield Wednesday, has verbally agreed to join The Millers this close season.

Knill believes the 25-year-old will fulfil his potential with the South Yorkshire club after beginning his career with Premiership giants Liverpool.

"Ritchie is very enthusiastic about coming here and I've no doubt that he's capable of playing at Championship level," explained Knill.

"Moving to Rotherham will allow him to achieve that - hopefully with us - because he's 25 now and needs regular first-team football.

"I spoke to Paul Sturrock about him and he had nothing but good things to say."
