Ipswich have completed the signing of former Sheffield Wednesday striker Adam Proudlock.

Proudlock had been on loan at The Tractor Boys after his dismissal by The Owls for a breach of club discipline.

Town manager Joe Royle has been impressed by the 24-year-old and has now signed him up until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday are poised to complete the permanent transfer of Leicester's Peter Gilbert.

Left back Gilbert, who has been on loan at Hillsborough for the past two months and has made eight appearances for the club, is set to sign for an undisclosed fee.

Manager Paul Sturrock has already tied up a deal for former Liverpool and Coventry winger Richie Partridge who will remain at the Championship club until the end of the season.
