Sheffield Wednesday have lost centre back Graham Coughlan for 'several weeks' with a torn Achilles tendon.

The former Plymouth Argyle defender suffered the injury in training on Friday and his loss is a setback for the Hillsborough club.

The 30-year-old will have a scan in a fortnight to assess the damage to his leg injury, though Owls boss Paul Sturrock cannot predict when the player will return at action.

"I can't put a timescale on it, but it will be several weeks and it is a huge blow," Sturrock told the Sheffield Star.
