Wycombe Wanderers boss John Gorman has insisted that he does not want to lose striker Nathan Tyson.

The 23-year-old has been a transfer target for Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday, as Owls boss Paul Sturrock looks to add more firepower to his attack.

The former Plymouth Argyle and Southampton boss watched the former Reading hit-man at Lincoln City on Saturday, with Wednesday thought to have tabled a fresh offer for the marksman.

Despite the speculation, Gorman remained hopeful he can keep Tyson at The Causeway Stadium.

"We don't want to lose him, I've said that all along," Gorman told the club's official website.

"He's influential for our push toward promotion and I'll be gutted if he has to go because he's been fantastic.

"But you have to face facts and at the end of the season, Nathan can walk away for nothing.

"If we don't sell him by January, the club get no money and there's no denying that there's interest from Sheffield Wednesday, so he's got a chance to talk to them.

"There's no point lying about it, so we'll see what the next few days bring."
