Rory McArdle has joined Rochdale on a six-month loan spell.
Rochdale manager Steve Parkin has snapped up Sheffield Wednesday youngster Rory McArdle on a six-month loan spell.
McArdle, who is a Northern Ireland under-19 squad member, is highly rated by Owls boss Paul Sturrock, who has previously said he would have no problems throwing McArdle into first team action.
Sturrock will now take a good look at the 18-year-old, and Parkin is equally happy with the arrangement.
"He's been playing with Northern Ireland over the summer, so we know he'll be in good shape and I look forward to working with him," said Parkin.
The centre-back will join former Owl Grant Holt at Spotland.
