Swindon Town have moved to within six points of the automatic promotion places in Division Two with a 2-0 home win over struggling Grimsby Town.

A first half brace from Tommy Mooney sealed victory for The Robins, with his strikes coming on 34 and 45 minutes.

The win was soured in the dying stages at The County Ground when Swindon's Brian Howard was sent off for a professional foul with three minutes left.

The result takes Andy King's side three points clear in fourth and occupying a play-off place while Grimsby remain just four points above the drop zone.

Bournemouth boosted their chances of reaching the play-offs following an excellent 2-0 away win at Sheffield Wednesday.

The Cherries sealed victory with first half goals from Carl Fletcher on 11 minutes and Steve Fletcher ten minutes after later.

Chris Turner's side had no reply in the end and Bournemouth went level on points with Luton Town for the final play-off spot while The Owls remain eight points adrift of those play-off positions with nine matches left to play.
