NORWICH have dropped their interest in Sheffield Wednesday player Leigh Bromby after the two clubs were unable to agree terms for the transfer.

The defender enjoyed a successful loan spell at Carrow Road last season and Nigel Worthington was keen to bring him back to the club on a permanent basis.

Owls boss Chris Turner had wanted to swap the 23-year old for Canaries striker David Nielsen but that deal was rejected by the Norfolk club.

Bromby has not be involved in first-team action at Hillsborough during the first few games of the new season.
