Barnsley have completed a double swoop to sign Declan John and Jabo Ibehre on loan.

Both players will remain with the League One side until the end of the season. Wales international John, 19, joins from Cardiff while 32-year-old Ibehre has arrived from Colchester. Barnsley boss Lee Johnson told the club's official website: "Declan is very dynamic and very good on the ball and will give us good competition and bring George Smith on as well. "He's young, but he's a Wales international and played 20 Premier League games for Cardiff last year so he is reasonably experienced. "We need a left sider. He can play wide left which is really another box I felt needed ticking and gives us a bit of natural balance." Ibehre, who has made more than 500 appearances in his career so far, joins up with his former Oldham manager. "Jabo is a good lad, experienced in the division and the best option available and a decent signing for our squad," added Johnson. "I had him at Oldham at the start of the year and he is a very good professional. "Any senior players we bring into the club have got to be guys who do their extra training, look after themselves properly and eat well because I want them to set an example to the other players and Jabo is a very good example of that."
