Gorkss still learning names

Kaspars Gorkss admits he did not know his team-mates' names when he made his Colchester debut at the weekend.

The 33-year-old made his bow for the League One side just 48 hours after flying in from Latvia last week. The centre-back helped the U's keep their first clean sheet since September in their 1-0 FA Cup win over Peterborough. But the former Blackpool and QPR defender is still getting to know his new club-mates. "It all happened very quickly - I spoke to them on Thursday and by the Friday, I was here," he told the Colchester Gazette. "I'm not even sure that I know all of the names yet. "Defensively, communication is a big thing and that probably wasn't the best, from my point of view. "It's a very young team and I'm probably older than everyone by 10 years. "But now I have to prepare for the next game and it's only going to get better."
