Colchester have confirmed that youngsters Shaun Phillips and Jordan Sanderson are released by the club.
Goalkeeper Phillips and midfielder Sanderson found first-team football hard to come by and were not offered new deals. "It wasn't an easy decision because they are both talented players but there has to come a stage where you make this decision and we were at this stage," manager Joe Dunne told the club's official website. "They have both worked hard over the past few years and I wish them the best of luck in their future football careers."
