New Rotherham signing Richard Brindley is determined to show what he can do at a higher level.

The former Norwich trainee, 20, will strut his stuff in League One next year after penning a two-year deal at New York, less than six months after plying his trade at non-league Chelmsford City. Brindley's move to South Yorkshire came via a four-month stay at Chesterfield and he believes he is now at a level where he should have been years ago. "Steve Evans spoke to me and said he was interested a few weeks ago and it is good to finally get it confirmed," he said. "Looking at the stadium and where the club is going it has got a big future, for me as a youngster it is a chance to really step up and show what I can do. "League One I feel is the league where I should I have been a few years ago and it has been kind of catch-up for me. Now is the time to push on. "It has come in a short space of time for me, but I am now ready to show what I can do. "My aim is to get first-team experience and experience in League One, so it is about getting as many games under the belt as I can."
