Sears: The only way is up

Freddie Sears feels Colchester have the belief to pull themselves clear of the drop zone after recording back-to-back wins.

The U's ended a nine-game losing streak with a 2-0 win against Walsall before following it up by beating Portsmouth at the weekend. Sears scored a 16th-minute penalty in the 3-2 victory and the 23-year-old wants to see more three-point hauls in the next few weeks. "It was a massive three points for us," the striker told the Daily Gazette. "This is the stage of the season where you need wins, to stay ahead of the teams in and around you. "The win against Walsall the week before took a lot of pressure off our shoulders and the boys have been flying. "The only way is up for us now, if we keep digging in and winning games."
