Chris Porter has signed a new two-year contract at Sheffield United after impressing the club in League One last season.

The former Derby forward scored eight goals in his debut season at Bramall Lane last term, including the winner in the League One play-off semi-final triumph over Stevenage. "I am delighted to get this finalised," Porter, 28, told United's official website. "It was always my intention to stay and we must now move forward and bounce back from the disappointment of losing at Wembley. "I have really enjoyed my time at Sheffield United to date. At times it has been frustrating and obviously I would have liked to play more, but I was made up to go though a full season without any injury setbacks. "Next season is a big one for me. I am determined to improve my personal performance and I am sure, as a team, we are capable of another good season. Blades boss Danny Wilson added: "We are very happy to be able to keep Chris at this football club. We all believe he has much more to offer us this season. We certainly haven't seen the best of him yet, but we remain confident in his abilities."
