Colchester United midfielder Lloyd James has cast doubt on his future after turning down the club's new contract offer.

James will weigh up options ahead of the expiry of his current deal at the end of this month.

The 24-year-old was on loan at npower League One new boys Crawley towards the end of last season and has scored one goal in 51 appearances for the U's.

But the former Southampton midfielder could now leave the Weston Homes Community Stadium after rejecting the chance to stay with the Essex side.
