Izzet progress pleases physio

Colchester captain Kem Izzet has started running again as he steps up his recovery from an ankle injury.

The midfielder, despite playing in his end-of-season testimonial, missed the final two matches of the league campaign due to the problem but he is well on course to rejoin his team-mates for pre-season training at the start of July. U's physio Tony Flynn told the club's official website: "It's good to see Kem back running this week, hopefully there'll be no reaction and he'll step things up now. "The specialist advised us that Kem would need an injection and that was done pretty soon after the end of the season. That seems to have done the trick and Kem is looking forward to coming back for pre-season fit and raring to go."
