Boss John Ward has hailed the maturity of Colchester's leading scorer Anthony Wordsworth, saying he can used almost anyway on the pitch.
The 22-year-old, a product of the Us' Academy system, has played every game for Ward's side this season, scoring seven goals in League Two.
"Anthony's maturing now. He can play wide left, in the pocket, and now in central midfield," he told BBC Essex.
"He's taken those little challenges from me and grown up with them."
Ward deployed Wordsworth in a central position in their 4-2 over Notts County and has backed him to flourish at the heart of the Us midfield.
"I think Woody's ready for that now, I told him so before the game, 'you're ready for that industry position now'," he added.
