John Ward believes Colchester's convincing 4-1 win over Oldham was just reward for the efforts they put in this season.
The Us claimed their first home victory of the campaign after putting a lacklustre Latics side to the sword. Anthony Wordsworth opened the scoring after 17 seconds and grabbed the second with a penalty after Reuben Reid had levelled from the spot. Ian Henderson and Matt Heath then wrapped up a comfortable win after the break. Boss Ward said: "I was really pleased with the way we went about it. "It's a reward not just for now but for the first four or five games where we'd put some good football together and come away empty-handed at times. "We got a nice reward and I want the players to enjoy that."
