Colchester boss John Ward is under no pressure to sign anyone ahead of the season despite being on the lookout for a striker.
The U's have been unbeaten during pre-season but are still looking for the frontman they have been seeking all summer. But despite limited attacking options ahead of their curtain-raiser at Preston, Ward is confident his squad is up to the task. "My coaching staff have been out all week watching people and we had scouts out too," Ward told the Daily Gazette. "But they're going to have to be pretty good, because what we've got is OK. "I'm trying hard to bring new people in but if I can't, I won't - I'll go with what I've got."
