Striker granted international clearance

Colchester have completed the signing of striker Ian Henderson after receiving international clearance. Skysports.com revealed earlier in the week that Aidy Boothroyd was keen on the former Northampton and Luton man. Boothroyd has now snapped up the 24-year-old, who has most recently been playing his football in Turkey for Ankaragucu, on a free transfer. "I had him at Norwich and he has lost his way a bit in the last couple of years, he went to play in Turkey and sometimes it doesn't always work out," said Boothroyd. "He is a player who can play in a number of positions, up front, wide right and in central midfield. "He is a tenacious, horrible player to play against, he never stops running and is technically a good player." Henderson is Boothroyd's third signing since the turn of the year after loanees Kayode Odejayi and John-Joe O'Toole penned permanent deals.
