Colchester United have finalised the permanent signing of Ashley Vincent and have also secured Mark Cousins on a new two-year deal.
Vincent has committed to a three-year deal with Colchester after impressing since joining the club on loan from Cheltenham Town.
The winger, who scored once in six appearances during his loan spell, is now hoping to help the Paul Lambert's Us clinch promotion to the Championship.
"Signing for Colchester gives me another chance to have a good crack at League One, but in a side that is aiming to play in the Championship," Vincent told the club's official website.
"I want to play at the highest level possible and I feel that I can do that at Colchester United.
"I am aiming to help them get out of the division in what will be a successful season.
Meanwhile, young goalkeeper Cousins has agreed a deal to stay with Colchester until 2011 after making 13 appearances this season.
Cousins said: "It was a good opportunity for me to commit for another two years.
"I played 13 games last season and to me that showed that the manager has faith in me to play me. It has given me a taste for first-team action, and I hope to get more games under my belt next season."
