Defender not seeking early exit from Loftus Road

Kaspars Gorkss insists he is not looking to leave Queens Park Rangers just months after moving to Loftus Road. The Latvian defender signed a three-year contract with QPR in the summer after the club paid an undisclosed fee to Blackpool. He has been restricted to just eight appearances for the R's and has been linked with a move when the transfer window reopens. However, after starting the last two games under new boss Paulo Sousa, Gorkss says he is happy to stay with the ambitious West London club.

Not a waste of time

"I think there was loads of talk around, but I haven't personally spoken to anyone," Gorkss told the Kilburn Times. "I only just came here and I want to prove to everyone that I'm not a waste of time, that I deserve to be in this team and to be in the gaffer's plans for the future. "To be honest, every footballer is frustrated when he isn't playing and happy when he is. "Now I'm looking forward to every game and I want to stay happy for longer than I did before."
