Brentford have boosted their backline with the loan signing of Colchester United defender Garry Richards.
The 20-year-old centre-back arrives at Griffin Park after making 24 first-team appearances during his time with The U's.
He now faces the task of helping the South West London club get out of the bottom four in League One.
Richards's arrival comes as Bees boss Scott Fitzgerald extended midfielder John Mousinho's contract.
The 20-year-old will now remain with Brentford through to the end of the 2008/09 season.
Fitzgerald has also allowed Darius Charles to join Crawley Town on loan until the end of April.
