League One promotion chasers Colchester have been busy in the transfer market having seen two players leave and one arrive at Layer Road.
The U's have been struggling of late to capture the form that saw them claim 20 wins from 22 games earlier in the season.
In a bid to pep up his strikeforce boss Phil Parkinson has raided Blackpool for the services of out-of-favour striker Scott Vernon, on loan until the end of the season.
The young hit-man arrived at Bloomfield Road in the summer from Oldham but has struggled to ever find his feet on the coast and will now look to rejuvenate his career at Colchester.
Heading in the opposite direction, to Blackpool in similar loan deals, are Sam Stockley and Gareth Williams, both deemed surplus to requirements by Parkinson.
Stockley is a 29-year-old defender who normally operates at full back, while 23-year-old striker Williams started his career at Crystal Palace.
