Swindon Town came from three goals down to earn an improbable 3-3 draw with fellow promotion chasers Port Vale.

A point for the Wiltshire club looked unlikely as The Valiants delighted the Vale Park crowd by taking a 2-0 half time lead.

Billy Paynter smashed home Vale's first goal on 14 minutes before Stephen McPhee scored the first of his brace four minutes before the break.

McPhee made it 3-0 on 58 minutes with another strike, as Martin Foyle's side looked home and dry for the three points.

However, that spurred The Robins into a remarkable comeback, with Sam Parkin (pictured) heading Swindon's first five minutes later.

Skipper Matthew Hewlett made it 3-2 on 68 minutes with a solid strike past goalkeeper Jonathon Brain and with seven minutes left, Rory Fallon completed the comeback by bundling the ball into Vale's net for 3-3.

The draw keeps both sides in the play-off places but Foyle was not pleased with his side allowing Swindon to get a point and he kept his players on the pitch after the final whistle to discuss what had happened.

In the other match on Tuesday evening, Blackpool played out a drab 0-0 draw with Colchester United at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders finished the match with ten men, as Danny Coid was shown his marching orders by referee Carl Boyeson for serious foul play.
