Stoke City's Geoff Cameron is ignoring mounting speculation surrounding his future, with nine clubs said to be interested in acquiring his services.

It has been suggested that sides in England and Germany are considering an approach for the versatile USA international.

Cameron is aware of the rumours and appreciates that they are likely to intensify as transfer deadline day draws ever closer.

A lot of names have been bandied about in recent weeks, but they aren’t players we are looking to move on, to be honest.

He is not about to let them become a distraction, though, with no desire to move on having been expressed by him or his representatives.

Cameron said in The Sentinel: “I’m letting everyone else do the talking.

“As of now, I’m at Stoke and happy to be at Stoke.

“My focus is on my playing and working hard every single day to try to better myself and better my team-mates.”

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has also attempted to curb the rumours by reiterating that he has no intention of parting with key men.

Cameron, Peter Crouch, Steven Nzonzi and Marc Wilson have all been generating transfer gossip, but those in charge at the Britannia Stadium are not about to start strengthening the ranks of a rival.

Hughes said: “A lot of names have been bandied about in recent weeks, but they aren’t players we are looking to move on, to be honest.

“It’s a long season and I’m not trying to take key elements of the squad out of the mix and give them to others.”
