Sources understand a deal has not been agreed for midfielder

Sky Sports sources understand Stoke City and Tottenham Hotspur have been unable to agree a deal over the loan of Tom Huddlestone. The midfielder on Thursday night passed a medical with the Britannia Stadium club and was on Friday expected to finalise his season-long move. But the deal has hit a hitch and as it stands nothing has been signed for Huddlestone to move to Tony Pulis' Stoke ahead of this weekend hosting Arsenal. New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas was willing to let the 25-year-old go in search of regular game time following a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Huddlestone, who was in 2005 signed from Derby County, won three England caps between November 2009 and May 2010. But his career has since been hampered by injury, restricting him in 2010/11 to 14 league games and last season just two. Huddlestone is now looking to kickstart his career, having shown during Spurs' pre-season campaign he is back to full fitness.
