Midfielder's loan spell in League One cut short by the Potters

Matthew Lund has been recalled by Stoke City, meaning his loan spell at Oldham has come to an end. The midfielder joined the Latics on a three-month loan deal at the start of the season but the Potters had the right to bring him back to the Britannia Stadium. The 20-year-old started Oldham's first two League One games this season but has only made one appearance as a substitute since. Oldham manager Paul Dickov told the club's official website: "Stoke wanted Matty to come here to play games which hasn't been happening in recent weeks. "Myself and Gerry (Taggart) have spoken to Matty and the kid's attitude has been fantastic, even when he was not playing. "After speaking with Stoke, both parties agreed it was best given the circumstances that Matty should go back." Oldham are 15th after six games in League One and entertain promoted Stevenage at Boundary Park on Saturday.
