Brighton manager Gus Poyet wants to bring Uruguayan loan star Diego Arismendi back to the Withdean Stadium next season.
The Seagulls cannot afford to buy the midfielder from parent club Stoke, but Poyet will consider trying to re-sign him on a season-long loan.
Poyet told The Argus: "It's a difficult one, simply because of Premier League wages. I won't rule out a season-long loan."
Arismendi has made six appearances since arriving on the South Coast in March but was sent off during Saturday's goalless draw at MK Dons.
