Stoke boss Tony Pulis has been handed a double boost with the news that the injuries to Dave Kitson and Ryan Shawcross are not as serious as first feared.
The duo picked up knocks during last weekend's 1-0 win over West Brom with fears suggesting the pair could be sidelined for a lengthy period.
Kitson was forced off with a knee problem, while Shawcross sustained a back injury.
Scans have shown that the injuries are not serious and Pulis is refusing to rule the duo out of this weekend's clash with Hull City, although their participation looks highly unlikely.
"Dave is a little bit sore in the knee, so it will be touch and go for Saturday," said Pulis. "I would say it would be a couple of weeks out, if that, with him.
"If Ryan doesn't feel any pain then he can play. There are two small fractures, but not in the main area that would concern the medical side.
"We will look at it nearer the time and wait until the last minute for the two of them. It will be disappointing if the two of them are not available."
