Andrew Davies' Stoke City debut has been put on hold as the defender requires a minor knee operation.
The former England Under 21 international has yet to make a first-team appearance for Stoke since his August move from Southampton.
He underwent knee surgery over the summer and had been closing on his Stoke debut after a recent reserve appearance.
However, Potters boss Tony Pulis has confirmed that Davies has met with a setback and faces a further spell on the sidelines.
"He's taken a knock on the knee and is having a little operation on Monday," Pulis told The Sentinel.
"He played a reserve game last week and we hoped he would be up and running this week, but he's had this setback in training which is a blow for us."
