Hereford United are hoping to hang on to Stoke City midfielder John Eustace for a third month.

Eustace has been on loan at the League Two side since October after being loaned out to boost his match fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

He has impressed with Hereford and manager Graham Turner is anxious to keep Eustace until the New Year.

With the player's current deal due to expire after Saturday's match with Torquay United, Turner confirmed his intention to speak to Stoke.

"We're not sure what the reaction will be from Stoke," said Turner.

"We've got to talk to them and see whether they'll allow him to stay.

"He will be missed if he goes. He's been very good for us, particularly with his influence on other players."
