Scottish Premier League new boys Falkirk could face competition from Stoke and Excelsior for Feyenoord defender Glenn Loovens.Feyenoord would appear to be willing to send the youngster on a season-long loan deal in a bid to increase his match sharpness and Falkirk confirmed their interest on Monday.
Bairns boss John Hughes said he was hopeful of wrapping up a deal in the near future, but it has now emerged that Stoke and Excelsior are also keen.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis is in need of defensive reinforcements, as key man Clint Hill is set to miss a large portion of the season with a knee injury, and Loovens would be an attractive option.
Excelsior are also keen on the 21-year-old and their close links with Feyenoord could place them in pole position for his signature.
Loovens, though, is eager to improve his game and may favour a move to England or Scotland as opposed to the second tier in his home country.
