Stoke boss Tony Pulis has denied making a bid for Oxford striker Craig Davies.

Reports suggested that The Potters had offered around £145,000 to land the Wales Under-21 international.

However, Pulis says that he has not made any bid for the Oxford forward, although he did say he was an admirer.

"I don't know where such a precise figure has come from, but we haven't made a bid of any figure," Pulis told the Stoke Sentinel.

"We're aware of the player and he looks a decent prospect, but to be honest, we would have to be spending that kind of money on a frontline player rather than a young prospect."
