Stoke boss Tony Pulis has confirmed he is still in the dark over the extent of Clint Hill's injury.

The former Tranmere stopper has endured an injury interrupted time since joining the club from Oldham Athletic and is now out with a back problem.

Hill pulled up in Stoke's midweek defeat to Wigan and Pulis has now revealed that the early diagnosis does not bode well.

''Clint's had a scan on his back and that hasn't come back too brilliantly,'' Pulis told the club's official website.

''He could be out for anything from two weeks to two months.

''It's really disappointing because I think he has been playing probably the best football since he joined the football club.''
