Stoke land Duberry

Leeds United defender Michael Duberry has joined Stoke City on loan.

Leeds United defender Michael Duberry has joined Stoke City on a three-month loan deal.

The Potters had been desperate to bring in central defensive cover, due to suspensions to Gerry Taggart and Clive Clarke, and coach Tony Pulis has successfully concluded a deal to bring in the former Chelsea man.

The 29-year-old, who is one of the highest earners on Leeds' books, goes straight into the squad to face Reading - much to the delight of director of football John Rudge.

"We are delighted to get him," Rudge told Stoke's official website.

"He is an experienced defender who has played previously at the highest level with Leeds and Chelsea and he will add quality and competition to our squad.

"There is no doubt his arrival gives us a boost."
