ROCHDALE are set to complete the £150,000 signing of Stoke City`s Paul Connor, which will be a club-record fee for the Lancashire outfit.

The Dale have announced a press conference for Friday morning and Stoke have confirmed that Connor is in talks with the Third Division outfit.

"It now all depends on Paul and whether he can agree personal terms." said Stoke director of football John Rudge.

Rochdale manager Steve Parkin has been searching for a striker for sometime and he has seemingly finally got his man, after previously having two bids rejected by Stoke.

Connor moved to the Potteries in 1999 from Middlesbrough, but he has failed to settle at the Britannia Stadium and was loaned out to Cambridge United earlier this season.

The deal will break Rochdale`s previous record of £100,000, which they paid for Clive Platt from Walsall, who ironically should partner Connor up-front.
