Southampton boss wants his team to see games through

Nigel Adkins is determined to remain positive after Southampton let the lead slip late on to lose 3-2 at home to Manchester United. Southampton are yet to pick up a point since winning promotion back to the Premier League and endured a similar scenario in their opening game of the season against Manchester City. A 2-0 home defeat by Wigan Athletic followed before a Robin van Persie hat-trick for United denied Saints any reward for a spirited performance. Arsenal away is Saints' next game after the international break and Adkins is eager to see his team finish off a match after the late setbacks against last season's top two clubs. "We put ourselves in a position to win the game and we haven't," Adkins told Sky Sports. "Man Utd always finish the game strongly and we didn't see it through. "It's all right talking about changing things, we need to be able to apply it. "But all the lads put a great shift in. We will remain positive, we knew the first four games would be challenging but we have loads of positives."
